Hi lovelies and welcome to Wicca Now. Today I thought I’d share one of my go-to witchy cleansing spray recipes. I tend to always have a small bottle of this my fridge and I like to use it when I want to quickly cleanse the energy of a room or object and don’t have time to cleanse with smudge sticks or incense.
Recently we’ve been writing a lot about witchy protection spells and cleansing rituals like this home protection spell, this anti-anxiety spell, a post all about magical indoor plants as well as this beautiful healing spell. This cleansing spray is perfect to use before you begin any of these spells to dispel any lingering negativity.
This spray is so easy to make and I find its cleansing benefits just as powerful as smudge sticks or incense. In fact, the combined ingredients of this spray which include sea salt, sage and rosemary make it so powerful I often prefer it to smoke cleansing.
Witchy Cleansing Spray Ingredients
- A small refillable spray bottle
- A sprig of fresh rosemary
- A few fresh sage leaves
- A teaspoon of natural sea salt
- Enough water to fill the spray bottle
Witchy Cleansing Spray Instructions
Place all of the ingredients into a pot and cover with the water. On low heat allow the water to simmer. Simmer until the oils have been extracted from the herbs (your water will start to have a yellow-greenish colour). Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Once the water is cool fill into your spray bottle. I always like to put a few fresh herb leaves into my bottle because I think it looks prettier. Keep the bottle in the fridge (this way it will stay fresh longer) and use whenever you feel like a room or object could use quick energy cleanse.
How To Use Your Witchy Cleansing Spray
Use your witchy cleansing spray in the same way you would smudge sticks or incense. Vibes in a room feeling a little low? Lightly spray a little of your cleansing mixture into the room and watch the energy move. Lightly spray onto objects that need some energetic cleansing, use it to spray across your bed at night before sleeping to encourage a peaceful nights sleep, spray it across your sacred space before beginning any magickal work.
