Hi lovelies and welcome to Wicca Now. Recently I’ve been talking a lot about crystals, like this post about how to cleanse your crystals, one about crystal correspondences, a post teaching you how to charge your crystals and a post detailing crystals for each zodiac sign. Today I thought we’d cover something that’s been increasingly on my mind, namely, EMF blocking crystals.
We must share the standard disclaimer that we are not doctors and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used only as a complement to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care and or medication. Please always consult a medical professional.

What is EMF?
Like many of you, I spend the majority of my working life sitting behind a computer screen. Opening up my wifi preferences generally showcases no less than 30 available wifi networks. Power lines and wireless data loops criss-cross and incircle the visible and invisible spaces around me.
According to Healthline, “it turns out that our cellphones, microwaves, Wi-Fi routers, computers, and other appliances send out a stream of invisible energy waves”. These waves, call electronic magnetic fields or EMF’s permeate the working, living and sleeping spaces of most modern humans.
With so much electronic EMF ‘smog’ circulating through the spaces where we work, sleep and eat, its no wonder that some experts are beginning to express concern about the longterm effects EMF pollution. According to the World Health Organisation, EMF’s are ‘possibly carcinogenic to humans’
So, how can we protect ourselves from electromagnetic pollution? Apart from the impossible suggestion of removing all electrical devices and moving to a secluded countryside location where wifi network coverage is limited, could be possible to protect against EMF pollution through the use of certain ‘EMF blocking’ crystals?
EMF Blocking Crystals Explained
Although at this time no conclusive scientific evidence concerning the effectiveness of crystals against EMF pollution exists, anecdotal evidence suggests that certain crystals could be effective in terms of providing protection from EMF smog.
Again, according to anecdotal evidence, crystals can create subtle energy grids which can help to shield your body from EMF pollution.
The theory as to how crystals can protect against EMF pollution postulates that certain crystals, for example, shungite, shieldite and fulgarite are able, on account of their unique molecular structure, to absorb and hold pollutants. This theory states that these crystals are able to absorb both energetic and substance-based pollutants, and it is the crystals ability to absorb and hold these pollutants which shields and protects us from EMF’s.
Another argument for using crystals to protect from EMF radiation states that crystals can compensate for the detrimental effects of EMF pollution on the body by harmonising and rebalancing the bodies energy field. According to this theory, wearing crystals or carrying them on your person can make an enormous difference in how your body is able to cope with and respond to EMF pollution.
What Are The Best EMF Blocking Crystals?
Because each body is different there is no singular ‘best’ crystal to block EMF. Some crystals have a much finer vibration than others and ‘intuitively’ (letting your intuition guide your crystal choice) choosing a crystal to work with might prove more effective than simply going by a ‘list’ of recommended crystals.
That being said, Shungite probably provides the most comprehensive protection against EMF’s due to its unique molecular structure which may have the ability to capture and hold pollutants. For a list of other crystals which assist with EMF’s please consult the table below.

How To Use EMF Blocking Crystals
EMF blocking crystals can be used in a number of different ways, depending on what suits you the best. An easy way to benefit from the EMF blocking qualities of certain crystals is to simply carry a stone in your pocket. You might also like to wear a stone as an amulet or in the form of a ring etc.
You can also place EMF blocking crystals around your home, concentrating on areas where the EMF radiation is likely to be the highest ie, your work or office space and around the wifi router. Another great tip is to place EMF blocking crystals such as shungite and smoky quartz around the four corners of your bed to protect you from EMF radiation throughout the night.
You can also attach a piece of shungite or tourmaline directly onto the EMF emitting device. For example, stick a crystal onto the back of your mobile phone, laptop or onto the base of your cordless phone hub.
Note: If your crystal has a face, point this towards the direction you wish the energy to flow. For example, if there is a large EMF emitting source near your house, point a large tourmaline or smoky quartz towards it. This might deflect and neutralise the EMF pollution.

Healing Layouts With EMF Blocking Crystals – Outdoor Layouts
Placing crystals around the outside of your home is one method of working with crystals to block EMF radiation. Please note: if you are intending to leave the stones outside for an extended duration of time or planning to bury the stones it is to be expected that some stones will dissolve or shatter.
To create an outdoor grid decide where you want to place the stones through dowsing or simply by selecting all four corners around the perimeter of your home.
Cleanse your stones and state your intention. For example ‘I am protected from all negative influences’
Place or bury the stones in their designated positions. Make sure to leave a marker if you are burying the stones so that they can be periodically dug up cleansed.
Healing Layouts With EMF Blocking Crystals – Crystal Grids
Crystals placed in a simple grid pattern around your home can create an energetic energy field which might help to purify and heal your own energies.
Before placing any crystals its useful to do a short meditation to ensure that your own energies are at their optimum. Keep your thoughts calm and focused whilst placing the grid and try to bring only positive energy to the task.
The easiest grid shape to work with is the square. To work with a square grid, for example around your bed, simply place a suitable crystal at each of the bed’s four corners and join the points of the crystals by imagining a stream of energy connecting them.
A triangle grid also works great for the bedroom. You will need three activated and cleansed crystals. Place one crystal at the head of your bed and the other two below your feet or in the corners of the bedroom. Again, connect the crystals by imagining a stream of energy creating a grid between them.
Another crystal grid pattern to try is a zig-zag pattern. For this, you will need 8 or more cleansed and activated crystals. The zig-zag pattern is a powerful energy amplifier and you might like to alternate high vibration crystals such as selenite with cleansing stones such as shungite. Lay the stones in a zig-zag pattern so that the crystals touch the walls of either side of the room you are working in. Again, connect the grid by visualising a powerful stream of energy flowing between the crystals in a zig-zag shape.
Note: remember to cleanse your crystals regularly
