Recently I’ve been talking quite alot about crystals, like these posts about crystals for healing, how to make crystal infused water, how to cleanse your crystals and which crystals to use for protection. Today I thought we’d talk about something close to every witches heart, namely all about spells using rose quartz.

As many of you already know, rose quartz is often called the ‘crystal of love’. This beautiful dusky pink crystal corresponds directly to the heart chakra and as such is the perfect crystal to work with when doing any spell work around the topics of love, abundance and confidence. You’ll find four beautiful spells using rose quartz listed below so why not try your hand at one and see how you go? The spells themselves are super simple and even a beginner should have no problems getting results with these spells.

Tip: Rose quartz itself varies in colour from deep pink to almost white and you will find that the crystal almost always shows irregularities. If you purchase rose quartz and all of the pieces have the same shade of pink, you can be almost certain that the stones have been treated with synthetic dyes.

The wonderfully loving and peaceful frequency of rose quartz makes it an excellent crystal for those facing insomnia or restless sleep. Place a cleansed piece of rose quartz underneath your pillow before sleep and visualise the stone creating a rose coloured protective energy shield around you. If you wake up during the night, touch the rose quartz under your pillow and imagine it absorbing all of your worries and fears.

Having rose quartz in your bedroom will naturally help to deflect negative energies which cause nightmares and help you to have a more restful sleep. You can also utilize the healing properties of rose quartz to help to release past emotional trauma as you dream.

Tip: Remember to cleanse your rose quartz regularly to remove any negative energies it might have stored.

A Spell Using Rose Quartz To Heal A Broken Heart

Let’s be honest, we’ve all been there and while there’s no doubt that heartache can be extremely debilitating there are certain steps that can be taken to help ease the pain. Apart from spending time with friends and family and taking time out for self-care, why not tap into the beautiful healing frequency of rose quartz to help salve your broken heart? The loving vibration of rose quartz can help to release emotional trauma and keeping a piece of rose quartz with you at all times can help begin the process of emotional healing.

To help heal your broken heart place a cleansed piece of rose quartz on the window sill so that it catches the light of the moon. This is best done during the night of a full moon but if you need immediate help, any moonlight will do.

Leave the crystal to charge with lunar energies overnight and in the morning, take it into your left hand and visualise a powerful healing beam of light flowing from the crystal and into your heart chakra. Feel the energy of the rose quartz soothing the pain in your heart and imagine it surrounding you in a luminescent shield of protection.

Place the crystal into your jacket pocket and whenever you feel low, touch the crystal and visualise again the powerful beam of healing light flowing into your heart chakra.

Do this as often as needed during the day and at night, place the crystal back onto the window sill to recharge. And remember in the words of William Shakespeare ‘expectation is the root of all heartache’ so while doing the work, try to release any unrealistic expectations you may hold around the concept of love. Focus on allowing yourself to feel good regardless of whether you are currently in a romantic relationship or not and spend time doing things that make you feel joyful rather than fixating on past or future relationships.

A Rose Quartz New Moon Ritual To Help Reboot Your Love Life

Think of this ritual as a sort of reboot for your love life. New moons are the perfect time to hit the re-start button and working with spells using rose quartz on a new moon can be a great way of clearing out any negative thought patterns or energy blockages relating to the topic of love.

On the night of the new moon take a cleansed piece of rose quartz and place it on your altar or alternatively you can place it on any other designated sacred space of your choosing. As you look at the rose quartz visualize or state your desired intention out loud. For example, you may like to state something like; ‘I gratefully accept all love and abundance the universe offers to me’. You might also like to write your goals on a piece of paper and place them underneath or next to the crystal. As you visualise your desired goal chant the following incantation ‘New moon new start. I will take heart, begin anew and follow through’.

Once you have completed the ritual you might like to carry the rose quartz with you throughout the month. You can perform this ritual as often as you like until you have achieved your desired result.
